And The Pitch Is Good

Hometown man builds a successful business and divides his time between the work he loves and the little things that give him pleasure and the people who love him back. This idyllic story is not a fictional piece but is the true story of Eric Herring. Eric grew up in the heart of Harnett county and found his home for higher education at Campbell University. He majored in Trust and Wealth Management and when many people feel the need to fly the coop to build their lives and make a name, Eric laid a piece at a time much like the parts of a roof and built a business that brings shelter and protection to the families across North Carolina.

Herring’s team takes pride in their work and always offers outstanding customer service. In an industry built on reputation and referrals, Herring and his team always work to maintain an exceptional name that customers trust and feel good sharing with others with roofing needs.

Although successful in the banking world, Eric felt the pull the leave it in 2016. Eric appreciated the values and lessons he learned from his time in the corporate world, but he wanted to start his own business with something more hands-on.

Herring Roofing started with a solid business plan and grew exponentially from its humble start-up in a backyard playhouse. Herring has grown to cover and service all of North Carolina's roofing, siding, and gutter needs with a Coastal division located in Hampstead, North Carolina. Through the growth and expansion of his business, Eric has been able to introduce the roofing world to young adults preparing to enter the workforce giving experience in the roofing industry by means of a summer job.

Eric first met his future wife in kindergarten. Taylor was his first crush and the two were married in 2010. The love story continued to grow with the addition of 3 children: Talton 9, Brody 5, and Addie 2 months. The lines may blend between work and personal, but Eric keeps a focus on the things that bring him closer to his family and community. He is an active member of his church and serves as a board member for Cape Fear Christain Academy in Erwin, NC. His service and altruism do not stop there. He also coaches his son’s travel baseball team, the Erwin BatBoys.

Eric works daily to create the perfect blend of work and family and in that way, he is fortunate because in many ways his team is family. Eric may be the heart of the business, but the team operates as a collective whole building each other and working toward the same goal: providing quality service at a fair price. Herring Residential and Commercial can be counted on from consultation to project completion.
